These covers for downlight fittings are are designed to restore the fire rating of the roof that has been compromised by the lamp.

Downlighters in ceilings are widely used in commercial and domestic buildings. The ceilings are often subject to fire regulations and where applicable the ceiling construction needs to be fire rated. However, once a hole is made in the ceiling for a downlighter, the integrity of the fire rated ceiling is significantly reduced.
The Firefly FF109 Downlighter Covers are designed to expand internally when heated up by a fire below, this fills any gaps behind the downlighter holding back the fire and thus restoring the integrity of the fire rated ceiling.
The FF109 Downlighter Cover is certified for use in fire rated ceilings for up to 120 minutes and is both NHBC and LANTAC approved. The Downlighter Covers also offer excellent acoustic insulation and are available in three sizes to suit a large range of downlighter fittings.
